October’s image was taken in the Lake Clark National Park & Preserve in Alaska. It’s about 150 miles southwest of Anchorage, on the north end of the Alaska Peninsula in south-central Alaska. Nearby are the Alaska and Aleutian mountain ranges, which are an amazing, jagged array of mountains and glaciers that include two active volcanoes, Mt. Redoubt and Mt. Iliamna. We took a motorboat out to a small island in the middle of Lake Clark and I captured this image of the lake and the reflections of the mountains as the day came to a close. I used a 24-70 mm wide angle and a graduated neutral density filter to help balance the sky and the foreground.
For the month of October, this image is available at a 20% discount off of my standard print prices.
